THE HISTORY, THE APPEAL: LEARN ABOUT THE HISTORY OF THIS FASCINATING ISLAND, LOCATED OUT IN LAKE ONTARIO, 19 KM FROM THE TIP OF PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY. EVERYTHING FROM THE DAYS OF RUM RUNNING AND THE PRESENCE OF A THRIVING COMMERCIAL FISHING COMMUNITY TO THE DAYS WHEN JOHN FOSTER DULLES ONCE OWNED THE ISLAND AND QUEEN ELIZABETH ONCE ENJOYED A PRIVATE PICNIC THERE. TERRY WILL SHARE HIS KNOWLEDGE OF THE NATURAL HISTORY OF THIS ENCHANTING LOCATION, AS HE RECALLS THE DAYS WHEN HE USED TO HOST BOAT TOURS AND INTERPRETIVE WALKS ON THE ISLAND FOR ALMOST A DECADE. THE CLUB AND BAR WILL OPEN AT 1PM ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 2024, FOR THIS EVENT; TERRY'S PRESENTATION WILL COMMENCE AT 1:30PM.

Featuring guest speaker Joe Berridge presenting ‘Sailing with Champlain in Brittany and the County’. Samuel de Champlain learned to sail in the high tides, rocky shores and storms of Western France, and was the first European to record the multi-island route across Lake Ontario from Long Point to the south shore. Joe’s talk will take you on both beautiful and challenging journeys.
Annual Pancake Breakfast in support of Hospice Prince Edward serving from 9 am to 12 noon - before the Picton Santa Claus Parade. Adults - $15. Youth 12 and under - $8. Breakfast includes pancakes, local syrup, baked beans, bacon, sausage, coffee, tea, juice.
